A myomectomy is a surgical procedure that removes uterine fibroids while leaving the uterus intact. Because no reproductive organs are removed, it is often the preferred option for women who want to become pregnant in the future or who wish to keep their uterus.

Types of Fibroids
Fibroids can grow inside the uterine lining (submucosal), within the uterine muscle (intramural), or on the outside of the uterus (subserosal or pedunculated).
